Hope for the Future

Over the past six weeks, I’ve had a few opportunities, on behalf of clients, to speak with larger prospects and donors. And it’s been very reassuring in this time of Covid craziness.

Appropriately so, we have been through a deluge of overwhelming stories and huge challenges… More so maybe in healthcare than anywhere else. And they’re justified. There are so many people struggling, both personally and professionally. But I marvel at the sense of optimism for the long term of some people I’ve spoken with recently, each who is considering larger gifts to my clients.

Each has readily admitted and acknowledged that there are great trials and tribulations right now. But in the same vein, each has indicated a sense of hope in the long-term prospects of not only our country but humankind. They’re giving more of their charitable dollars this last year than in other years because they want to help those who need it the most....but also because they want to invest in the organizations that are going to make the biggest differences going forward.

If all you do is watch the news, every story, no matter the station or network, seems to be negative. But these people see a huge opportunity in 2021. While the future is still a little bit hazy for me, it is reassuring to know people do see things improving, and quickly, as we start a new year.
